GasScout Privacy Policy

Effective: July 31, 2026

GasScout ("we," "us," "our") is a gas price finder app. This policy explains what information GasScout collects, how it's used, and your choices.

Information We Collect

• Account information: your email address and password if you sign up directly, or your name and email address if you sign in with Google or Apple.
• Location data: while you're using the app, we access your device's location to show nearby gas stations and calculate distances to them. This is used only on your device to sort and filter results — we do not store a history of your location on our servers.
• Fill-up reports: when you log a fill-up (price paid, gallons, fuel grade, and station), we store that information tied to your account so we can calculate and display your personal fuel savings over time.

Information We Don't Collect

• We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
• We do not sell your personal data or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

How We Use Your Information

• To show you nearby gas stations and their current prices
• To calculate and display your personal fuel savings based on the fill-ups you log
• To authenticate your account and keep your data secure

Third-Party Services

• Supabase provides authentication and data storage for the app.
• Google Places is used to source gas station locations and fuel prices. This station/price data is public and aggregated — it is not personal data about you.
• If you sign in with Google or Apple, those providers handle that authentication under their own privacy policies.

Data Retention & Deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all associated fill-up data at any time from the "Saved" tab in the app by tapping "Delete account." This action cannot be undone.

Children's Privacy

GasScout is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
